Theaters expect another holiday rush

What's the busiest day of the year for a movie theater? It isn't on Memorial Day weekend or Fourth of July weekend, despite all the hype surrounding the summer blockbusters. It's actually the day after Thanksgiving, according to Steve Carpenter, special promotions coordinator for Kerasotes Showplace Theatres, the nationwide chain that owns Star Cinema in Fitchburg. Just as big-box retail stores and malls are calling in extra employees to brace themselves for Black Friday, so too are movie theaters getting ready for their own holiday rush. more >>
